BRENDAN O’CONNELL
Brendan is running his third consecutive Boston Marathon in 2026. After years as a spectator, cheerleader, and non-runner, Brendan ran his first two marathons in 2024 and 2025, respectively. He is excited to embrace the challenge of another marathon, with the support of his family, his friends, his students (who know him as Monsieur O'Connell) and colleagues, and all the incredible supporters of The Timothy O'Connell Foundation. He is thrilled to be part of the 2026 Boston Marathon Tim's Team runners - a group that includes his brother Matt and his partner Katie, his brother Chris, his former teacher and colleague/mentor Claire Picard, and his hometown friend Bobby Kiley - and to run in memory of his younger brother, Tim.
MATT O’CONNELL
Matt will be running his second consecutive marathon this year after having a blast all the way from Hopkinton to Boston in 2025. He feels blessed to have another opportunity to run the marathon in Tim’s honor with his brothers and a growing Tim’s Team! Matt loves to stay active but has never been a serious runner, so he needs your support to get across the finish line again for his second annual singularly long run!
CHRIS O’CONNELL
Chris O'Connell is running the 130th Boston Marathon as a member of Tim's Team in his second ever marathon, after running Boston last year. After four years as a collegiate rower, Chris has gotten off the water and is hitting the road in memory of his older brother, Tim. Having grown up watching the marathon every year, including in support of his mother Joanne and all the other Tim's Team runners, he is ready to get back out there to support the Timothy O'Connell Foundation alongside with his brothers and all of Tim's Team.
KATIE PEACOCK
Katie is beyond excited to be running her first Boston Marathon and grateful to be doing so in support of the Timothy O'Connell Foundation! In the fall of 2025, Katie ran the Cambridge Half Marathon sporting the Tim's Team orange alongside Joanne and Christopher. Last spring, she was amazed by the tenacity of her boyfriend Matt and all the rest of the marathon runners who made 26.2 miles look easy! Katie enjoyed spending marathon day with Kevin, supporting the runners along the way. This year, however, Katie is thrilled to be on the route herself! Having been a lifelong runner, Katie has always dreamed of running a marathon. The opportunity to do so honoring Tim's memory and raising funds for the Timothy O'Connell Foundation is just the icing on the cake!
BOBBY KILEY
Bobby Kiley is running his 4th marathon and 2nd Boston marathon with Tim's Team. After running Boston his first time in 2023, he got addicted to running and the pursuit toward new goals. Timmy continues to motivate and inspire him to push boundaries and embrace the journey of a marathon. Bobby is honored to run for the Timothy O'Connell Foundation, alongside all of Timmy's brothers!
CLAIRE PICARD
I’m training for my third Boston Marathon and hoping for a successful race day on April 20th 2026! My training runs are filled with gratitude which makes them quite enjoyable. I’m forever grateful for those who motivated me to start on the path of long distance running and keep me going. I would not be a runner without the inspiration of my husband and sons. They all completed marathons before I did!
The strength of the O'Connell family motivates me to lace my shoes even on cold winter days. It was a deeply transformative experience to be Tim’s 3rd grade teacher. Tim was a 3rd grader with exceptional maturity and courage as he was treated for leukemia. My little aches and pains from running are insignificant when I think of his courage, determination and drive to excel!
Joanne, Tim’s mother, is the best coach and running role model I could have ever met. Her husband Kevin’s friendship and support also mean a great deal to me. Their sons Brendan, Matthew and Christopher are honoring their brother in a very loving way. It is a unique experience for me to be able to run alongside these three loyal alumni (actually far behind them!). Finally, I’m thankful to all of you and for your continued support of the good work of the Timothy O’Connell Foundation. The meaning that you give to my running is bringing me back to the starting line in Hopkinton this year!!
With deep gratitude.
